Hurricane Maria has begun to weaken as it moves over the cold wake left behind by Hurricane Jose, and is now a category 1 hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Scale. As of 11:00 p.m. EDT Sunday, Maria was centered near 30.0°N 73.0°W, and was moving northward at about 9 mph.
