Leslie now a tropical storm over the central Atlantic, Rosa headed for Baja California, Sergio and Walaka form
There are several systems to watch in the tropics today in both the Atlantic and the Pacific. In the Atlantic, Subtropical Storm Leslie has transitioned into a tropical storm, and could become a hurricane by late next week though it is not likely to impact any land areas in the near future. In the eastern Pacific, Hurricane Rosa is likely to weaken and strike northern Baja California as a tropical storm, while Tropical Storm Sergio has formed south of Mexico. In the central Pacific, Tropical Storm Walaka has formed southwest of Hawaii, though it is not expected to affect any land areas.
